Welcome

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them... because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Sneak Peek - Underbelly Blues

Posted by admin in Untagged

Here's a sneak peek at the newest film from Phil Messerer (Thicker Than Water). "Underbelly Blues" follows a mysterious briefcase as it exchanges hands amongst the colorful denizens of the underworld. These include a corrupt cop, a sleazy strip club owner, a pair of lesbian strippers, an ex-military gun-for-hire who suffers from O.C.D. and has a penchant for creative torture, a Jewish pawnshop owner and his dominatrix mother, a British sophisticate who cooks crystal meth, a pair of surfer pot dealers, a legally blind albino gangster, a 7 foot tall, 400 lb neo-nazi, a sexual deviant redneck, a wild-eyed Mexican named Take it Easy, and a brilliant 'brain' called The Architect. All of these characters are connected through a series of bizarre coincidences which inevitably lead to the downfall of corporate America as the rivalry between two soft drink companies goes out of control. Hit the jump for more information.

"The Secret" Film and DVD Review

Posted by admin in Untagged

“The Secret” is a taught little thriller directed by Ian J. Keeney and written by Darren DeBari and Gregory Robert Wilson. This is one of those films that if you walked into a theater while it was playing, you probably wouldn't even realize that it was an independent production. The story follows five friends who reunite after 15 years. The first thing I noticed is that the acting is very good, and remains so throughout the film. It really feels like these are a bunch of normal guys who are just hanging out and catching up on old times. We have a brief conflict over marital infidelity, but soon a more sinister secret emerges involving the rape and death of a classmate fifteen years before.

"The Final Equation" Review

Posted by admin in Untagged

“The Final Equation is the Holy Grail of Physics. With this equation, man will explain the workings of the cosmos”.

“The Final Equation” is a remarkable independent film by Daniel Abella that deals with Einstein's Unified Field Theory. It's interesting to note that this is a real scientific theory, and is also known as “The Theory of Everything” and “The God Equation”. It involves quantum physics and general relativity, and may prove a connection between electromagnetism and gravity. To put it in very simple terms, it was Einstein's belief that all matter and energy in the universe is connected. Many believe that this equation could unlock the secrets of all existence, including time travel and unlimited energy. Even today, many scientists believe that this equation is a reality, but to date, nobody has been able to prove it mathematically.

KERBEROS - A BADASS MOVIE REVIEW

KERBEROS - A BADASS MOVIE REVIEW

BY: Mediasaurus Rex

KERBEROS, directed by and starring Kely McClung, is the coolest independent crime drama you have never heard of. You will though. This is one of those special films that claws its way to the top and demands respect. With the tagline of “The gates of hell go one way,” KERBEROS is named for the three-headed dog that guards those very gates. The film drags the viewer to that dog and forces a staredown. It is a protracted, visceral gaze into the abyss executed with devastating precision.

The Open Door Movie Review

Posted by admin in Untagged

"Don't worry honey, things will start to happen."

I've been sitting on my screener for The Open Door for about 3 weeks now and
I apologize for that. First, I have to say that the trailer doesn't do this film justice. If you walked into a movie theater and TOD was playing, you would never know that this is an independent film. The plot revolves around an urban legend of a pirate radio station that appears only on full moons that will grant you your wildest dreams. Everyone seems to know someone who has claimed to have heard the broadcasts, but nobody really believes it exists.

"Don't Shoot the Pharmacist" Film and DVD Review!

Posted by admin in Untagged

"Don't Shoot The Pharmacist!" Official Site

I'm not usually into comedies, but I've been interested in "Don't Shoot the Pharmacist" ever since Myles MacVane was telling us about it during our online interview here. You can think CLERKS in a pharmacy, directed by real Pharmacist Dave Broitman. The film stars Ben Bailey (Cash Cab), Godfrey (Phat Girlz, Soul Plane, 7-up Spokesman),Steve Byrne (Comedy Central) and Ardie Fuqua (VH1, MTV). When I got my screener in the mail I had the flu, so I contacted Broitman to let him know it was going to be a few days before I could get to the review. He sent me an email with a detailed list of the exact medicine and vitamins I should take to get over it quickly. I thought that was pretty cool of him, and it actually took me a few minutes to realize that the reason he was able to tell me exactly what I needed was because this is really is his profession. That's amazing in itself, and that's exactly why 'Pharmacist' has such an authentic feel.

I have seen the future of horror and it is Phil Messerer.

"Dark Fantasy" Film and DVD Review!

Posted by admin in Untagged

Do you want me to show you what my fantasies are like?

Dark Fantasy is an ambitious little film by Ian J. Keeney that takes us into the mind of a serial killer. It stars Cristoph A. Nowaczyk as Art, a recently paroled murderer, and he gives off a creepy, weaselly, unlikable vibe from the start. Dark Fantasy can be best described as a crime thriller with a decent into madness. The film follows Art as he tries to resist his urges to kill while either bedding, or outright raping, every hot girl in town.

Clive Barker's "Dread"

Posted by admin in Untagged

Dread is a film about fear that will be part of the After Dark Horrorfest 4. Stephen (Jackson Rathbone) and Cheryl (Laura Donnelly, Insatiable) are college students making a documentary about what people dread in life.  However, things take a turn for the horrific as tales of murder are told of the past with one character, Quaid, who takes things too far. Stephen and Cheryl have no idea that their partner Quaid (Shaun Evans, Telstar), witnessed his parents being murdered by an axe-wielding lunatic and now wants to make others experience his own personal horror.

Angel of Death

Posted by Purcells Bounty in Untagged

Writer and director Cameron Nigh takes us into the mindset of an abused woman in his new film “Angel of Death”. Jessica (Iman) has fled to her remote cabin in the woods after suffering a beating from her husband. She isn’t running away so much as simply trying to take time out for herself to recuperate (as her husband knows her location but is not seeking her out). Even her mother is against her and insists she return home. In a moment of frustration, she destroys her phone, a surefire portent of impending disaster.
